Spray-Dried Animal Plasma as a Multifaceted Ingredient in Pet Food

نویسندگان

چکیده

Plasma is a co-product from pork and beef obtained during the processing of animals for human consumption. The spray-drying process maintains solubility spray-dried animal plasma (SDAP) its nutritional functional properties, making this ingredient multifunctional in nutrition. In pet food, SDAP has been used production wet foods (pates chunks gravy) as an emulsifying binding agent, with potential to replace hydrocolloids partially or totally, which have some negative implications digestibility, fecal quality, intestinal inflammation. From point view, high digestibility amino acid profile compatible high-quality ingredients, such powdered eggs. Studies companion animals, especially cats, shown that palatability. Despite immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, prebiotic, neuroprotective properties demonstrated models, there are still few publications demonstrating these effects dogs limits use species. review, aspects related sustainability ingredient, opportunities studies discussed.

Dietary spray-dried animal plasma alleviates mucosal inflammation in experimental models

The intestinal and bronchoalveolar mucosae contribute to homeostasis by preventing the entrance of biological and chemical agents that could alter the stability of the system. In this review, we summarise the main effects of dietary supplementation with spray-dried plasma (SDP), a complex mixture of biologically active functional components, on two models of acute inflammation; a murine model o...

Comparison of wheat gluten and spray-dried animal plasma in diets for nursery pigs.

Five experiments were conducted to determine the effects of different wheat gluten (WG) sources (Source 1 = enzymatically hydrolyzed, Source 2 = nonmodified ring-dried, Source 3 = spray-dried, and Source 4 = flash-dried) on growth performance of nursery pigs compared with soybean meal (SBM), spray-dried animal plasma (SDAP), or other specialty protein sources. In Exp. 1, pigs (n = 220, initiall...

Effects of spray-dried animal plasma and immunoglobulins on performance of early weaned pigs.

Five experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary spray-dried porcine plasma (SDPP) and spray-dried bovine plasma (SDBP) and their various molecular weight fractions on performance of pigs weaned at approximately 14 or 21 d of age. In addition, the efficacy of various levels of the immunoglobulin G (IgG)-rich fraction of SDPP and SDBP were evaluated. Experiment 1 evaluated the ...

Effects of Irradiation of Spray-dried Blood Meal and Animal Plasma on Nursery Pig Growth Performance

Two trials were conducted to determine the effects of irradiation of spray-dried blood meal and animal plasma on nursery pig growth performance. In Exp. 1, irradiation of spray-dried blood meal resulted in improved ADG and F/G and tended to increase ADFI for the 14 d experiment. The majority of the increase in growth performance occurred during the first week of the trial. In Exp. 2, ADG and AD...

Spray-Dried Potato Juice as a Potential Functional Food Component with Gastrointestinal Protective Effects

BACKGROUND Peptic ulcer disease, including its complications and functional dyspepsia, are prevalent gastrointestinal diseases, etiopathogenesis of which is associated with mucosal inflammation. Research into new therapeutics capable of preventing or curing gastrointestinal mucosal damage has been steadily developing over past decades. This study was undertaken to evaluate whether a spray-dried...
